Smart window sill symbol

You can use the Smart Window Sill Symbol tool to insert inner or outer smart window sill symbols in window openings. The approach is the same as with the Smart Window and Door Symbols.

Note: Smart window sill symbols can only be inserted if the bottom edge of the window opening is horizontal.

To insert a smart window sill symbol in a window opening

1. Click Smart Window Sill Symbol (How).
   

   Activate Smart Window Sill Symbol in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

2. Click in the opening for which a smart window sill symbol is to be designed.

   The opening’s parameters are copied.

3. Enter the parameters as required in the Smart Window Sill Symbol dialog box.
4. When the smart symbol is complete, click OK to confirm your entries.

   This inserts the smart symbol in the opening.

5. Click Attrib in the input options to assign attributes to the smart symbol.
   

   You have the following options:

   • Click Window objects or Door objects to open the Window objects or Door objects attribute form supplied with This is where you can enter attributes such as installation, material and type of frame, door leaf, position, price etc.
   • You can assign the user-defined attributes Text1 to Text5 or the variables V6 to V9 as well as other attributes to smart symbols.
   • When you have licensed the Object Manager module, you can enter the attributes in the same way as in the Object Manager.
6. Click Label in the input options to place a label for the smart symbol.
   The approach is the same as in the Label tool.
7. If necessary, set a new reference point for the smart symbol to define the position of the window sill within the opening. Click a side of the window. Once you have found the correct position, click the right mouse button to confirm.
8. If you want, you can save the new smart symbol in the smart symbol library. The appropriate dialog box is displayed automatically. Select the desired path and enter a name for the smart symbol in the dialog line.
9. Repeat steps 2 to 9 to draw more smart symbols. Otherwise, press ESC to quit the tool.

Tip: Using the various options provided in Window, you can now insert window openings and several smart symbols such as windows, inner and outer window sills, and roller blind housing in walls in a single step.
