Surroundings

Module(s): Animation + Shadow + Shortcut menu in navigation mode

Using Surroundings, you can define natural lighting conditions (location, season, position of north, position of sun and so on) for your 3D model. These parameters have an effect on shadows in rendered images and in views of the Animation and RT Render types. In addition, the settings you make here define how colors and textures look in rendered views. The program also takes them into account when rendering images and calculating AVI movies.

Note: The Shadow module also accesses the Surroundings tool; here, however, the program only takes into account the settings for the Position of sun / north and Location. The Shadow module cannot process the other parameters.

Tip: You can combine natural lighting conditions with artificial light sources, which you can define using Set Light for Project.

In addition, you can add a "virtual ground plane" to your scene, making sure your model does not float in empty space.

In order to put the finishing touches to your presentation, you can enhance the background with colors. You can also insert a background image or add a "physical sky".
