Using Element Selection, you can select the design entities you want to display in the current viewport. The program temporarily hides all the other design entities and automatically switches to Navigation Mode.

Click Element Selection again to switch it off.

To display individual elements in the viewport and hide all the others

  1. Click Element Selection (How) on the View menu or the viewport toolbar.

    Or:

    Right-click in a viewport in Navigation Mode. On the shortcut menu, select Element Selection.
  2. Select the elements you want to display.

    The program displays the selected elements in the current viewport and automatically switches to Navigation Mode.

    Tip: You can use the Focal length parameter in 3D View (viewport toolbar) to control the aperture angle of the vision cone in the current viewport. The focal length is equivalent to the lens on a small camera. The default of 50 mm is equivalent to a normal lens.

  3. To move the camera, press and hold down one of the three mouse buttons and drag.
  4. You can move the camera in the following ways
  5. Click Element Selection again to switch it off. The program automatically switches Navigation Mode off again.
