You can use this tool to create a new 3D solid based on an existing surface of a 3D solid with inclined sides. Start drawing a closed outline. Then, this outline is assigned a height in positive or negative direction and depending on this direction, the outline is merged with or subtracted from the 3D solid. The sides are sloped so that an angle of 45 degrees can be found at the flattest side.
To slope and pierce a 3D surface
Release the ALT (and CTRL) key and enter the height of the object (perpendicular to its base) in positive or negative direction in the dialog line or by using the mouse.
A new solid is created based on the surface of the existing 3D object. The sides are sloped so that an angle of 45 degrees can be found at the flattest side.
