Create 3D Object

3D QuickSketch

You can use this tool to draw 3D objects. The outline is entered as a polyline. If you press the CTRL key in addition to the ALT key, the system tries to create a circle or polygon parallel to the coordinate planes. The height of the object is determined perpendicular to its base.

To create a 3D object

1. Press and hold down the ALT key and click with the left mouse button in the workspace.
2. Select the Create 3D Objects mode.
3. You can define the base of the object based on an existing surface (e.g. a side of a 3D object or wall). If this is not the case, the polyline is created on the absolute xy plane in plan view and on the absolute xz plane in an elevation.
4. Do the following:
   • To create a base of any shape, press and hold down the ALT key and enter the outline of the surface using the mouse.
     The outline is displayed in green.
   • To create a circular base or a base parallel to the coordinate planes, press and hold down the ALT and CTRL keys and draw the outline of the surface using the mouse.
     The outline is displayed in blue.
5. Release the ALT (and CTRL) key and enter the height of the object (perpendicular to its base) in the dialog line or by using the mouse.
