Clipping path, defining a vertical section

Tool(s): Clipping Path

To define a vertical section

  1. Click Clipping Path (How).
  2. If you want, you can now modify the parameters for the section.
The Context toolbar provides several options.
  3. Place points for the clipping path. You can use the tools in the Input options to assist you. The clipping path can have right-angular bends in it.

Note: To achieve right-angular bends, enter the end point of the next section of the clipping path. The program then adds the right-angular bend automatically. If the end point of the next section of the clipping path is perpendicular to the existing clipping path, the program will issue the following message: Illegal point.
    Example

  4. To finish defining the clipping path, press ESC.
  5. Define the section depth and viewing direction by clicking an appropriate point with the crosshairs.
  6. Enter a section identifier in the dialog line (only applies if you failed to enter one in the Architectural Section dialog box).
  7. To view the section, click Activate Section (How).

Note: The label and clipping path symbols can be moved independently of each other.

Tip: You can use Stretch Entities to lengthen the clipping path in the direction of the section; the section depth adapts automatically. To do this, enable the Display section objects (as construction lines) in the section's parameters.

Tip: Sections can be modified using Properties on the shortcut menu (modification based on initial settings).
