Rectangular 3D surface parallel to coordinate planes

Tool(s): 3D Surface

To create a rectangular 3D surface that is parallel to the coordinate planes

1. Click 3D Surface (How).
   

   Activate 3D Surface in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools 3D Modeling

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   3D Modeling

   • Configuration: Design Basic 3D Elements flyout
2. Click Rectangular 3D Surface on the 3D Surface Context toolbar.
3. To draw the rectangular 3D surface, select one of the following options in the input options:
   • Based on diagonal line: define the size of the rectangular 3D surface based on diagonally opposite points.
     You can also enter the values for the length and width of the rectangular 3D surface at the keyboard.
   • Based on base line: define the base line and width of the rectangular surface.
     After entering the base line's end points, you can also enter the width of the rectangular 3D surface as a value at the keyboard.
   • Based on center line: define the center line and half the width of the rectangular 3D surface.
     After entering the center line's end points, you can also enter half the width of the rectangular 3D surface as a value at the keyboard.
   • Based on center: define the center and a corner of the rectangular 3D surface.
     After entering the center, you can also enter the length and width of the rectangular 3D surface as values at the keyboard.

     (B) Point in X direction
     (C) Point in Y direction

     Note: If the first point of the rectangular 3D surface is on a work plane, it is created using the work plane’s local axes.
