Defining Height Curvature

Tool(s): Create a route profile with a variable longitudinal slope

The first and last corner point of the route profile are automatically used for the start and end of the route. As these points must define a linear section, you cannot select a curvature type.

The height curvature is defined by the curvature type and the height of the selected point. Note the limit values.
The settings only apply to the current station point (corner point of the route profile): The parameters of all the other corner points remain unchanged.

There are three options for defining the type of height curvature:

There are two options for defining the height:

After you have confirmed the dialog box, the program creates additional station points at the transition points between the linear sections and the curvature sections. The Z coordinate, angle of rise and stationing are calculated automatically for these points.

When you modify a height curvature you have already defined, the station points are adjusted automatically. The additional station points can be deleted together with the height curvature.
