Connecting bar (placement)

Tool(s): Coupler, Thread, Connecting Bar

You can use Connecting bar (placement) to apply connecting bars or threads to placements. The connecting bars/threads are only created for the respective placement. The modified placement gets a new mark number (if there are more placements of the original mark).

To apply connecting bars or threads to placements

  1. Click Coupler, Thread, Connecting Bar (How).
  2. Select the required manufacturer.
  3. Select Connecting bar (placement) on the context toolbar or click OK if this option has already been selected.
  4. Use the input options to specify whether the bar segment is to be lengthened or not when the connecting bar/thread is created.
  5. Click the end of a placed bar where you want to create the lock nut of the connecting bar or the thread. Requirement: the bar end in question must not have a hook.
  6. Click the coupler for which you want to create a connecting bar. The program checks whether the selected coupler matches the diameter of the selected bar. In addition, load type is taken from the coupler clicked when you use the SAH thread bar coupling system.

The Selection of Articles dialog box opens and you can select a catalog. The connecting bars/thread appropriate to the diameter is/are displayed.
Clicking a manufacturer in the tree view displays information on this manufacturer in the right pane. Click Options ... to specify whether the Selection name or the Company name is displayed in the tree view.

  7. Click OK to confirm the Selection of Articles dialog box.

After having checked the boundary conditions, the program adds symbols representing the lock nut of the connecting bar or the thread to the placement and the relevant schema bar (if necessary). With the lengthened option, the relevant bar segment is lengthened by the value specified for the coupler clicked or by the thread length. If there are more placements of the mark, a new mark number will be assigned. In addition, the label for the schema bar includes information on the lock nut of the connecting bar/thread.

Note: Whereas the name of the coupling system is always included in schema labels for bars with couplers and/or threads as well as for connecting bars, this information only appears in labels for the placement when the Steel grade parameter is selected.
