Label (Torsion Trace)

Labeling Components

You can use the Label (Torsion Display) tool to create and automatically label an RAS-compliant torsion trace.

To create a torsion trace

1. Click Label (How).
   

   Activate Label in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Terrain Site Plan

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Site plan

2. In the Input options, click Torsion.
3. Click the element from which the torsion trace is to be created.
4. In the Input options, enter a value to approximate the number of segments in a circle.
   

   This value defines the polygonization for ellipses, splines and DB parabolas. The higher the value, the smoother the manner in which the trace is displayed. You can enter a value between 8 and 360.

5. In the dialog line, enter a value for the torsion as a percentage.
   

   This value defines how many units of length are used to display a torsion of 1%.

6. Enter the speed in km/h.

   The torsion trace is created.

Note: The torsion trace can be used, for example, to automatically adopt the transverse slope in Perpendicular through Station.
