Parameters for Compute Cut and Fill

Compute Cut and Fill

Library

You can use this option to specify the data type for the cut and fill operation. You can toggle between data type REB 22.013 (reference horizon) and data type 22.014 (intersection of prisms).

Output

You can use this option to specify an output method for the data returned by the cut and fill operation. If Data Type is set to REB 22.013, you can choose between List and File. When Data Type is set to 22.014, the data can only be output as Text.

Horizon

You can use this option to specify whether the cut and fill operation is based on two intersecting DTMs, (set Horizon to No) or on the comparison between a DTM and a horizon plane (set Horizon to Yes).

Height of horizon

You can use this option to set the height of the horizon when the Horizon parameter is set to On. The specified horizon plane is set as the final status of the terrain, that means if the selected DTM is constantly above the horizon plane, you will receive the volume as cut.

Analyze based on:

You can use this option to specify whether the cut, the fill or both the cut and fill are calculated.

Fill

You can use this option to specify whether fill areas are displayed.

Color for cut, color for fill

You can use this option to specify a color for the cut and fill.

Delta height 1, Delta height 2

You can use this option to specify a delta height for the first or second DTM. Positive entry values, which are placed in the direction of the positve z-axis, enlarge the height of the points. Therefore if a cut should be taken into account, you have to enter negative values.

When computing cut and fill by comparison of two DTM's the delta height 1 (dh 1) is taken into account for the first activated DTM, and delta height 2 (dh 2) for the next DTM.
When computing cut and fill by comparison of a DTM with the reference plane the delta height 1 (dh 1) is taken into account for the first activated DTM, and delta height 2 (dh 2) for the reference plane.
