Computing cut and fill
Module(s): Digital Terrain Model
You can use the Compute Cut and Fill tool to calculate the cut and fill according to REB. The cut and fill is calculated either by comparing two DTMs, or by comparing a DTM with the height of a horizon plane.
To calculate cut and fill
- When comparing two DTMs, the original DTM should be in a drawing file that is open in edit mode. The edited DTM should be in the drawing file that is current.
- Click Compute Cut and Fill (How).
- Set the parameters on the context toolbar.
- Click OK to confirm the settings and click the (first) DTM.
If you are comparing two DTMs, the first one you click must be the original one. If the point clicked is part of both DTMs, the DTM in the drawing file open in edit mode automatically serves as the original DTM.
- When you have set the data type to 22.013, select the drawing file where you want to create the prism drawing of the (original) DTM.
- Click the second DTM when you calculate the cut and fill by comparing two DTMs.
You need to click the edited DTM. If the point clicked is part of both DTMs, the DTM in the current drawing file automatically serves as the edited DTM.
- If you are comparing two DTMs and you have set the data type to 22.013, select the drawing file where you want to create the prism drawing of the edited DTM.
- Finish computing the cut and fill according to the data type set.
- When you have set the data type to 22.013 and output to File, enter a name for the file and print it out, if necessary. The file is placed in the user's data exchange folder (...\usr\local\i_o).
- Set the data type to 22.013 and output to List, select the folder and report in the Reports dialog box and click Open.
Clicking Default on the left takes you to the module-specific reports. - Place the label for data type 22.014.
- With output set to List, the report is displayed in the Report Viewer and you can edit it as follows:
- You can customize the report,
- Print it,
- Place it in the current document,
- Save it as a file in Excel, PDF or Word format, or
- Edit it using the Layout Designer.
You can save changes as a new template in RDLC format.
- Print or save the report.
You can also print the list to file. You can then distribute this print file electronically. If the list exceeds one page, you can specify whether you want to include all the pages in the print file or selected ones only.Tip: Placing report in the current document
