Converting layout sections, parameters

Tool(s): Convert Layout Section

Important: the Ref LS (scale of reference layout) and Angle (rotation angle) parameters and the values used to place the document in the original layout must be the same. If Allplan does not find a suitable document within the selected layout border, it cannot create a layout section.

Lay # (layout number)

Lists all the layouts of the project with the exception of the currently active layout. Use the Layout structure to select the layout to which you want to save the new layout section. Layouts that are already in use can be overwritten.

Scale 1:X

Defines the scale for the layout section. You can enlarge or reduce the section. The way the section is transformed depends entirely on whether you set dynamic or static mode. When set to static, the layout border can be smaller or larger than the ‘cut’ area, when the scale of the layout section is different from the scale of the original layout.

Font factor (a resizing factor for the title block)

Use this to enter a factor for correcting the label of the section. The font factor applies to the height of the letters in the title block.
You can specify factors between 0.01 and 1000. Entering a factor of 1 (layout) sets the same size as in the document.

Ref LS (scale of reference layout)

Enter the reference scale that was applied when the document was placed in the original layout. You can also set the angle by clicking the element. If there are documents with different scales within a layout border, only the documents that match the values you have set are used.

Angle (of rotation)

Enter the angle that was applied when the document was placed in the original layout. You can also set the angle by clicking the element. If there are documents with different angles of rotation within the layout border, only the documents that match the value you have set here are used.

Please note that text is only rotated if the Check text direction option is active for the relevant layout element.

Layout section

You can opt to position the layout section in static or dynamic mode. In static mode, only the section delimited by a border is drawn using the same scale as the layout section. In dynamic mode, the boundary changes associatively with the scale of the layout section. The size of the layout remains unchanged.
