Hatching definitions, overview

Defaults

Allplan comes with a wide range of ready-made hatching styles. In the Hatching defaults, you can define your own hatching styles or modify existing ones. Use the Hatching tool to apply the hatching style later.

Note: The You are modifying the hatching in the office path message is displayed to remind you that any changes you make will alter the office standard and all projects that are associated with the office standard and that use the hatching style you are about to modify.

Note: When you open the editor from an NDW file, only the hatching styles in this NDW file are displayed. When you open the editor from a drawing file, layout or NPL file, the hatching styles in the office or project are displayed.

You can make the following settings:

General

Hatching number

Click the button and enter a number under which the new hatching style is to be saved. You can use numbers between 1 and 255 as well as 511 and 999. The hatching styles 256 – 510 are Allplan default hatching styles and cannot be edited. For more information, see Pattern and hatching numbers.

Use this to delete the current hatching style. When the selected hatching is used in a drawing file, a substitute is displayed for the hatching in question.
Note: When you have activated the hatching definition from an NDW file, you cannot delete hatching styles that are used in this NDW file.

Hatching name

Click in the box and enter a name for the new hatching style.

Line parameters

Pen and color defined in defaults are used for display

When this option is enabled, the selected hatching is drawn using the format properties set in this dialog box.

When this option is disabled, the hatching is created using the format properties currently selected on the Format toolbar.

Pen thickness

Click and select a pen thickness. The program supports up to 15 settings for the pen thickness. The settings you defined in Pen thickness - Format QuickSelect are used.

Line type

Click and select a line type. The program supports up to 99 line types. The settings you defined in Line types - Format QuickSelect are used.

Line color

Click and select a line color.

Angle

Click in the data entry box and enter a value for the hatching line angle. The angle is measured in a counter-clockwise direction. The hatching lines can be rotated up to 180°.

Line spacing

Click in the data entry box and enter a value for the spacing between the hatching lines. The maximum spacing between hatching lines is 999.00 mm.

Reference scale for adjusting line spacing so that it is true to scale

Enter the reference scale here for which the selected line spacing is to apply.

For example, you have entered a line spacing of 3 mm. For the hatching to be displayed and printed with a spacing of 3 mm between lines when the reference scale is set to 1:100, enter 100 in the Reference scale for line spacing box.

The setting you select here applies to hatching that you draw when Adjust to scale in layout; reference scale based on defaults setting in the defaults is selected. These change the spacing between lines in accordance with the selected reference scale.
