Measuring an inclination

Measure

You can use this tool to measure the inclination defined by two points. In the case of points in 3D space, you get the inclination relative to the x-y plane. In the case of 2D points, you get the inclination relative to the x axis.

To measure the inclination defined by two points

1. Click the first point.
2. Click the second point.

   The inclination is displayed. The format is based on the setting specified for the Inclination as option on the Desktop environment page in the options. But when the Angle setting is selected, the result is displayed as a percentage as angles can always be measured.

3. Do the following:
   • Click Set precision to specify the decimal places for the values returned. The values are rounded off accordingly.
   • Click to place the measurement result as text (only possible if you have not selected the measurement tool while another tool is active).
   • Click one of the values to use it for a tool or for the calculator.
   • Click and then, in the dialog box, click a value to copy it to the Clipboard.
   • Click OK to measure another element.
   • Click Cancel to quit the measurement tool.
