Measuring the length of an element

Measure

To measure the length of an element or of an element’s segment

1. Click the element whose length you want to measure.

   The total length of the element is displayed.

   To measure the length of a segment, click OK and then the first and second point of the segment:

   The following values are displayed:

   • Ele: the length of the segment (for polylines)
   • Dif: the difference between the last two points
   • Tot: the sum of all the delta length values
2. Do the following:
   • Click Set precision to specify the decimal places for the values returned. The values are rounded off accordingly.
   • Click to place the measurement result as text (only possible if you have not selected the measurement tool while another tool is active).
   • Click one of the values to use it for a tool or for the calculator.
   • Click and then, in the dialog box, click a value to copy it to the Clipboard.
   • Click OK to measure another element.
   • Click Cancel to quit the measurement tool.
