Tool(s): Pattern Line Settings + Modify Pattern Line + Modifying parameters of pattern lines

Note: Depending on the selected tool, the program opens a dialog box or the Properties palette, showing the parameters of pattern line s

Pattern

You can select a pattern here. Click the pattern you want to use or enter its number and press ENTER to confirm. Please see the notes on Pattern and hatching numbers.

Pen, color defined in defaults (only in palette)

Shows whether Default Pen and Color for Display of Pattern on/off in on or off in the pattern defaults.

Dimensions

Height, Width

This is where you enter the size of the pattern line. If you enter a different Height value, the Width is adjusted automatically. In other words, the aspect ratio remains constant. The Width setting governs the width of the pattern without altering the Height. In other words, the aspect ratio can be modified. See also pattern line and scale.

Note: The height and width settings you can enter for the pattern line here depend on the settings that were used to define the basic pattern element. You can only enter values that are multiples of 1/10 the size of a single pattern element. The maximum is 25.5 times the size of one pattern element. If, for example, the size of a single pattern element is 20 mm, you can only enter the values 2 mm (=1/10 of 20 mm), 3 mm, 4 mm and so on (up to a maximum of 510 mm). Allplan will not accept any other value or it will round it up or down in order to obtain a legal value.

Parameters

Show reference line

When you select this check box, the pattern line’s reference line is displayed. The reference line serves as an internal reference for the pattern line. Pattern lines can always be addressed via the reference line.

Mirror pattern

When you activate this check box, the pattern is mirrored across the reference line.

Lock corner

When you activate this check box, the width of the individual pattern line elements changes so that only whole elements are displayed. When you deactivate this check box, the width of the pattern line elements remains constant as set in the pattern's definition. This way, only parts of a pattern line element may be displayed at the corners.
Example

Constant height, width in layout

Use this to specify whether the height and width of the pattern line is to change with the reference scale. For more information, see pattern line and scale.

Intersection

Note: The Miter, Joint and Seamless parameters only have an effect on pattern lines created with Polyline.
Tools like Line or Polygon do not create polylines.

None

the pattern lines are not mitered.

Miter

the pattern lines are mitered at the bisector.

Joint

the pattern lines are joined.

Seamless

the pattern lines are joined smoothly.

Position of reference line

Right, Centered, Left

This setting defines the location of the pattern relative to the reference line
