Working with monochrome bitmaps

You can use the Create Bitmap Area tool in the Scan module to create black/white or monochrome bitmap areas straight from the associated scanned image and place them in the workspace.

You can lift areas out of a scanned image and use the bitmap areas created in this manner independently of the scanned image. You can also save these bitmap areas as symbols or as bitmap files in the project's design folder: this way, hand-drawn sketches can be integrated in a plan, for example.

The bitmap file associated with the bitmap area is saved in the project's design folder. The bitmap areas are no longer associated with the scanned image and can be edited like any other bitmap area.
