Modifying SmartPart using script

You can use the Modify SmartPart using Script tool to modify the script of an existing SmartPart.

You change the script of an existing SmartPart

1. Click Modify SmartPart using Script (How).
   

   Activate Modify SmartPart using Script in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Tools, Customize – Additional tools with icon category
2. Click the SmartPart.

   The SmartPart Editor dialog box opens.

3. You can now change the SmartPart. For example, you can add new parameters or edit the script text.
4. Click OK to apply the changes.

   If the current drawing file contains copies of the changed SmartPart, the program displays these copies in the selection color and asks whether you want to update these copies, too:
   Would you like to update identical SmartParts?

5. You have the following options:
   • Click Show identical ones to get a close-up view of all SmartParts that are identical.
   • Click Yes to apply the changes to all the copies.
   • Click No to leave the copies as they are; this creates a variant of the SmartPart.
