Separate into Files
Module(s): BAMTEC
You can use the Separate into Files tool to distribute the individual carpets in the placing drawing onto different drawing files. By definition, all the bars in one drawing file represent one carpet. If necessary, you can thus insert additional reinforcement.
If you want, the carpets can also be automatically reinforced when they are separated. In this case, a calculated FEA drawing file must exist.
The mounting strips are automatically placed on the BA_B_TRG layer, the elements of the Layout setup on the BA_B_PLA layer and the Carpet rings on the BA_B_RIN layer. When you create layouts for testing purposes, you can disable the layers in the layout editor.
To distribute the carpet outlines onto individual drawing files
- Click Separate into Files (How).
- The following options are provided for distributing the carpet outlines onto individual drawing files:
- Click the first radio button in the Action area to copy all the outline polygons to different drawing files and apply the reinforcement automatically.
- Click the second radio button in the Action area to copy one outline polygon to a single, separate drawing file and apply the reinforcement automatically.
- Click the third radio button in the Action area to simply copy all the outline polygons to separate drawing files.
- Click the fourth radio button in the Action area to simply copy a single outline polygon to a separate drawing file.
- Click the check box in the File Splitting area to place the log and the data for the layout setup (unroll direction, carpet name etc.) in a separate drawing file and to have one empty drawing file between those to which the outline polygons are copied.
As the layout elements are placed on the BA_B_PLA layer, you do not need to arrange the data on separate files. When you create layouts for testing purposes, you can hide the corresponding elements.
- Click OK to confirm the settings.
- If necessary, select a carpet and define the number of the first drawing file in the dialog box that appears. Please note that there should be enough consecutive, empty drawing files following the one you select. If this is not so, the program will issue a message and you will be prompted to enter the number of the first file again.
- If you have selected automatic reinforcement, set the parameters in the Automatic Reinforcement dialog box and click OK to start the automatic feature.
Open the relevant drawing files and briefly check the reinforcement the program has created automatically. Please pay attention to reinforcement peaks from the FEA calculation.
The final check is done after you have created the layouts. To do this, configure the program to show the contours of the reinforcement.
Note: Please read the information displayed in the dialog box for a more detailed description of the different approaches.
