Define plant objects

You can use the Define Plant Objects tool to define plant objects to which you can assign attributes from a catalog (for example, Bruns master articles).
You can use your own elements as well as symbols from the ”Landscaping/Urban Planning" catalog.

• Draw a plant symbol or select the desired symbol from the catalog and place it in the drawing file before you start defining plant objects.

To define a plant object

1. Click Define Plant Objects (How).
   

   Activate Define Plant Objects in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Terrain Landscaping

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Landscaping

   • Configuration: Landscaping/Urban Planning Landscaping flyout
2. The following options are available in the Plant Objects dialog box:
   • Click Smart Symbol Catalog and select a different smart symbol catalog.
   • Click Name and enter a name for the plant object.
     When you select a plant with attributes in the Plant Catalog, the short name of the plant is entered here.
   • Click Plant Catalog to define the attributes for the plant object.

     Click OK to confirm the dialog box.

3. Enter the geometric outline of the smart symbol.

   Note: One foil is usually sufficient.

4. To assign a label to the plant object, click Label style and select an appropriate label style (e.g., Plant description in the Landscaping subfolder).
   Place the label beside the plant symbol.
5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 to define more plant objects. Otherwise, press ESC to quit the tool.

Tip: When designing, you can use plant objects without attributes and place these objects as placeholders in the drawing file. For the final planning, define the required plants with all attributes and use Replace Plant Objects.
