Freeform Slope

Module(s): Digital Terrain Model

You can use the Freeform Slope tool to create freeform slopes between two elements (slope area and slope edge). The slope ratio is calculated automatically.

To apply a freeform slope

  1. Click Freeform Slope (How).
  2. Click the DTM in which the slope is to be drawn.
  3. Enter the outline of the slope.
  4. Enter the edge of the slope.
The edge of the slope must not intersect the outline of the slope.

Example of freeform slope

Note: You can specify whether the slope area and slope edge are created as polygons in the Options.

Note: After applying this slope, the mesh of the original model is retained up to the slope edges, so that there are not any cutaways that might falsify the cut and fill calculation. However, if you optimize the grid with Mesh, Optimize Grid, this effect no longer applies.
