Architecture to 2D

Tool(s): Copy, Convert Elements Across Drawing Files

You can use this tool to copy elements to a different drawing file and convert the architectural elements to 2D. The architectural attributes are lost in the process.

Note: As opposed to Convert Elements, all selected elements are copied to a different drawing file before they are converted. Another difference is that only appropriate elements are converted.

To convert architectural elements to 2D entities

  1. Click Copy, Convert Elements Across Drawing Files (How).
  2. Select Architecture to 2D in the dialog box.
  3. The Select File dialog box opens. Select the drawing file to which you want to copy the elements.
  4. Select all the elements you want to copy and convert.

All selected elements are immediately copied to the selected drawing file; only the architectural elements are converted to 2D.

Tip: You can also use this to resolve a label style into its constituent components. But please note that only the visible parts of the label styles are converted; display modes you have defined for other scale ranges are not taken into account. Labels become normal text and graphics are converted to design entities.
The components of the converted label style can be addressed as a single entity using the middle-left mouse button combination or CTRL + left mouse button.
