Test control point

Module(s): Site Plan

You can use the Test Control Point tool to check whether the required minimum offsets to a location line have been observed.

To check an element’s control points

1. Click Test Control Point (How).
   

   Activate Test Control Point in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Terrain Site Plan

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Site plan

2. Click an element or composite element.
3. Click Dimensions in the input options if you want to dimension the points within the control point offset. Otherwise, they are simply represented by lines.
4. Enter the control point offset.
5. In the Input options, select one of the following options:
   Points
   CtrlPt
   Elemen
   Ctrl E
   Points that are located directly on the original element are denoted by a separate symbol.
   

   Checks the points on the elements to be examined that are closest to the original element.

   

   Checks the start and end points of geometric primitives.

   

   Checks single points and the control point radius.

   

   Checks single points but not the control point radius.

6. Select the elements to be checked.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

Note: If dimensioning is enabled and a larger offset value was entered, ordinate dimensioning can be done in a graphical manner.
