Shadow to hatching

You can use the Shadow to Hatching tool to convert the shadows cast (created with the Shadow module) to hatching (e.g., to obtain specific effects).

To convert shadow to hatching

• The shadows, which are converted in the active document, are retained.
• When you work in a project-based manner, it makes sense to open the drawing file with the shadows in edit mode The hatching created in this manner is saved with the drawing file that is current and the drawing file with the shadows remains unchanged.

1. Click Shadow to Hatching (How).
   

   Activate Shadow to Hatching in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Presentation Shadow

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Shadow

   • Configuration: Design Shadow and Paint flyout
2. Click the shadow you want to convert to hatching.
3. Select a hatching style and confirm your entry.
   The hatching is created.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to convert more shadows.

Note: You can only use this tool to convert ‘genuine shadows’ generated in the Shadow module.
