Additional Parameters for Stairs with Landings

Tool(s): U-Type + Single Quarter Landing + Double Quarter Landing +
Context toolbar for defining a stair’s line of travel and geometry

Allplan provides additional parameters for stairs with landings:

Steps below

Number of steps at bottom

Steps in the middle

Number of steps in the middle (double quarter landing stair)

Steps above

Number of steps at top

Offset at bottom, Offset at top

Sets the amount the landing overlaps the stairwell at the bottom and top of the flight respectively.

Landing type

Position of steps at landing (u-type stair)

Position of steps at landing (single quarter landing stair)

Position of steps at landing (double quarter landing stair)

Lock Offset Ldg

When creating stairs with double quarter landings, you can
lock or release the offset between landings.

With this setting, you can release the tread and configure the system to calculate the offset.

Note on u-type stairs: Since the position of the landing represents the fixed geometric point in the outline of a u-type stair, the length of each of the flights is derived from the tread and the number of steps in the top and bottom flights. Unlike with other forms of stair, the tread is the critical dimension for the length of the line of travel for u-type stairs.

Note on stairs with single quarter landing: Since the position of the inner corner of the landing always represents the fixed point in the outline of a stair with single quarter landing, the length of each of the flights is derived from the tread and the number of steps in the top and bottom flights.

Note on stairs with double quarter landing: The tread, number of steps and offset between landings are mutually dependent and can be set in two ways:
When the Lock Offset Ldg button is activated (default setting), the offset between the inner corners of the landings (stairwell) is locked; the number of Steps in the middle can be changed and the Tread cannot be changed. With this setting, you can release the tread and configure the system to calculate the offset.
When the the Lock Offset Ldg button is not activated, you can specify the number of Steps in the middle and the Tread; the inner corner of the first landing is the fixed point, and the offset between the inner corners of the landings (stairwell) changes correspondingly.
