U-type stair

You can use the U-Type Stair tool to draw u-type stairs.

To create a u-type stair

  1. Click U-Type Stair (How).
  2. Place eight points to define the outline of the stair (the first and last point define the bottom of the stair). You can define any outline you want.

    Note: Start with the points for the inner stringer followed by the points for the outer stringer!

    Use the tools in the dialog line and on the shortcut menu.

    (B) Top
    (C) Inner stringer
    (D) Outer stringer

  3. To reposition the line of travel, click RefStr and select the reference stringer for the inner, center or outer line of travel. If you set this to Inner or Outer, you can use the Offset parameter to set a distance between the line of travel and the stringer.
  4. Click Height to set up the height of the stair.
  5. Click Match to copy the component settings from an existing stair.
  6. Right click in the workspace or click OK on the Context toolbar to confirm the current settings.
  7. Define the geometry of the stair (rise, tread, etc..).

    Note: You can set additional parameters for u-type stairs.

  8. Click and define the individual stair components.
    Click OK to confirm the settings.
  9. Click Close to finish designing the stair and acknowledge the prompt by clicking Yes.

    The stair is saved and this completes the design.

  10. Place the stair’s label .
