Strip foundation

Module(s): Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

You can use the Strip Foundation tool to create strip foundations below straight walls, for example. The approach is the same as with walls in the Basic: Walls, Openings, Components module.

Tip: If you want to draw a strip foundation below an existing straight wall or wall section, enable the Centered below wall option in the Axis area, specify the offset direction and click the corners of the wall above one after the other.

To create a strip foundation

1. Click Strip Foundation (How).
   

   Activate Strip Foundation in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   • Configuration: Architecture Architectural Components flyout
2. If you want, you can now modify the strip foundation's parameters.
   The context toolbar provides several options.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Match Properties to copy the settings form an existing element.
   • Click Load favorite to select saved parameter combinations.
3. Select the foundation type on the Strip Foundation Context toolbar:
   • Straight Component
   • Rectangular Component
   • Curved Component
   • Circular Component
   • Polygonal Component (Inscribed)
   • Polygonal Component (Circumscribed)
   • Entity-Based Component
   • Spline-Based Component

Note: You can only use rectangular cross-sections for curved and spline-based components.
