Modify element properties using the shortcut menu

Using the shortcut menu

You can use the shortcut menu to modify individual elements on an element-specific basis (e.g., architectural elements). The tools used to actually enter the element are presented for modifying it. For example, to modify a dimension line, the dimension line settings dialog box is displayed; when you want to modify a wall, the Wall property sheet is displayed. Basic elements such as lines and circles can be converted to pattern lines.

Clicking an element using the right mouse button and clicking Properties on the shortcut menu displays a dialog box with the element’s values, allowing you to modify these as needed.

Tip: To modify the properties of one or more architectural components based on the approach used to create them, use Apply Archit. Component Properties (How).

To modify an element based on the initial entry settings

  1. Using the right mouse button, click the element you want to modify.
  2. On the shortcut menu, select Properties.

The element’s properties are displayed together with its values in a dialog box.

Tip: Press the F1 key to get help on the selected component.

Note: In the case of complex openings (e.g. with facing, rabbet, lintel/header and roller blind housing), the Opening Designer dialog box is displayed in addition.

  3. Change the properties as required and click OK to confirm.
