Skylight

Module(s): General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

You can use the Skylight tool to create an opening for a skylight in a roof covering. You can also insert a smart window symbol in this opening.

• A skylight can only be inserted in a roof covering.
  First create a roof covering using the Roof Covering tool.

To create an opening for a skylight in a pitched roof

1. Click Skylight (How).
   

   Activate Skylight in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Configuration: Architecture Roofs and Planes flyout
2. If you want, you can now change the parameters of the skylight and set the size of the opening and the shape of the top and bottom level.
   Use one of the following options provided on the Context toolbar.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Match Properties to copy the settings form an existing element.
   • Click Load favorite to select saved parameter combinations.
3. Click the relevant height parameters of the skylight and enter new values if necessary.
4. Place the skylight in the roof covering.
5. Press ESC to quit the tool.

Note: The window can only be placed when it is displayed in selection color in the preview.
It can only be created in a roof covering.
