Auto-Display Axes in Views

Module(s): Associative Views

You can use the Auto-Display Axes in Views tool to automatically display axes, which you created in plan view using the Axis Grid tool, in views and sections.

To display axes automatically in an associative view

1. Click Auto-Display Axes in Views (How).
   

   Activate Auto-Display Axes in Views in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Engineering Views, Details Associative Views

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Associative Views

2. Define the reference axis in plan view by clicking the axis that
   • intersects the axes to be displayed in the view and/or section and that
   • passes through at least one point in a 3D component displayed in the view or section in question.
3. Click the view (or section).
4. Use the crosshairs to specify where the label is to be placed.

   The program displays all the axes that intersect the reference axis and that pass through a 3D component displayed in the view or section in question.

5. To display more axes, repeat the steps described above.
6. Press ESC to quit the tool.
   

Note: When the axis grid and the 3D model are in different drawing files, the axis grid will not update automatically when you modify it (e.g. move the grid, change the width of the grid).
