Transferring layer visibility

You can use the Transfer Layer Visibility tool modify the layer visibility settings (print set) of documents you have already placed in the layout. This way, you can generate different views of the layout without having to assemble a new one.

To modify the layer visibility of layout elements

1. Click Transfer Layer Visibility (How).
   

   Activate Transfer Layer Visibility in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Change Layout

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Layout

2. Click a layout element.

   The settings of this layout element are copied and can now be modified.

3. Choose a setting in the ‘Element Visibility’ dialog box.
4. Select the layout elements to which you want to assign a new setting.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.
