Creating several print files using Allplan vector drivers (batch mode)

Creating print files

When printing in batch mode using Windows drivers, you can output each layout with its settings saved. With Allplan vector drivers, on the other hand, the output device of the current layout is used to output all layouts.

Tip: You can use the Export HPGL File, Bitmap File tool to print one or more layouts to file in the HPGL/2 monochrome and HPGL/2 color formats. With this function you do not need to define output channels.

To create several layouts as print files with Allplan vector drivers

  1. Click Print Layouts (How).
  2. Select Allplan vector driver in the Settings area on the Printer tab and choose the corresponding output channel.
  3. Click the button to the right of Layout in the Selection area and use the Layout structure to select the layouts you want to print in batch mode.
  4. Select the Output to file option in the Output mode area.
  5. Select the file type and specify the path where the print files are to be saved. (Allplan proposes the folder set in the Options on the Desktop environment page, Save/load area, Folders for saving option; you can accept this folder.)
  6. Enter a file name and click Save to confirm.

The specified name plus the start number 0001 is used for the first unnamed layout. The names for the other unnamed layouts are numbered in ascending order. For example, the name of the print file is Layout. So the first unnamed layout is given the name Layout0001; the other unnamed layouts are then named Layout0002, Layout0003 and so on.
For named layouts, the names of the layouts are also used for the names of the print files.

  7. Click Start to confirm the settings.

Note: When you click Close, the settings are saved but the print files are not created.

  8. The proposed file names are displayed in the Print file dialog box. To change a file name, click it.
  9. Click OK to save the file names and to start printing.
