Exchange partner can’t read the file

Errors and error messages while transferring DXF/DWG files

Try reading the DXF file you created yourself. To be on the safe side, read it into a new project. Check whether you have the same problems reading the file as your partner (missing data, error messages when reading the file ...etc.)
If you do, print out the DXF log, as it might contain useful information for solving the problem.

If this doesn’t work, check the points below to see if they might be causing the problem:

3D data

3D data should only be transferred after executing Restore 3D View. 3D data cannot be read by all software applications. Ask your data exchange partner to check with his software vendor.

Drawing files open in reference mode

Elements on drawing files that are open in reference mode are not transferred.

The message: Unable to load the font file "002.shx"

This message indicates that you need to provide the missing font file. The fonts std.shx or ISO.shx are available on most CAD systems. If you want to use other fonts, you should agree in advance with your data exchange partner on which ones you are going to use.

What if I can import the file in Allplan but my data exchange partner still can’t import in their application?

Create a sample document and draw some basic elements. You can use the test drawing files shipped with the program. For further information see Exchanging a test file with a design partner.

If one of the following messages is displayed when your data exchange partner is importing the data:

Ask your data exchange partner to try importing the DXF file without a prototype drawing. The approach here can vary considerably between different AutoCAD versions. Please consult the AutoCAD documentation for details.
