Convert facade to 3D object

You can use the Convert facade to 3D object tool to convert facades to 3D objects. You can then change the geometry of the 3D objects using suitable tools.

Note: You cannot use Facade to modify facades you have created using Convert 3D object to facade.

Tip: Before modifying the facade, save its properties as a facade style so that you can quickly restore the original properties after the modification.

To save the properties of a facade as a facade style

1. Click Facade.
2. Click Modify.
3. Click the facade you want to save as a facade style
4. Click Object definitions.
5. Click Save object style and save all the properties of the facade as an FDS file (facade style).
6. Click Cancel to close the Objects dialog box.
7. Click Cancel to exit Facade.

To convert a facade to a 3D object

1. Click Facade.
2. Click Convert facade to 3D object.
3. Click the facade you want to convert.
4. Click Apply.

   The facade is converted to a 3D object. Now you can use appropriate Allplan tools to edit it.

To convert a (modified) 3D object to a facade

1. Click Facade.
2. Click Convert 3D object to facade.
3. Click the 3D object you want to convert to a facade.
4. Click Object definitions.
5. Click Retrieve object style and select the facade style file you saved before the modification.
6. Click Apply.

   Allplan applies the facade style to the facade.

7. Click Cancel to exit Facade.
