Text lines to paragraph

You can use the Text Lines to Paragraph tool to combine several horizontal lines of text in a paragraph. The current text parameters apply. You can specify whether to replace or retain the original text lines.

Several lines of text are combined into one item in a paragraph text. The spacing between the lines in paragraph text is always correct, regardless of reference scale.

To combine several lines of text to a paragraph

1. Click Text Lines to Paragraph (How).
   

   Activate Text Lines to Paragraph in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Text

   • Toolbar: Basic Tools Text flyout
   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Text

2. Select the horizontal text lines you want to incorporate in the new paragraph.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

3. Specify the text parameters.
4. Use the input options to specify whether to copy the lines or to replace them with the paragraph.

   The paragraph is attached to the crosshairs.

5. Position the first line of the paragraph.
