Entering Special Characters, Overview

Special characters are characters which you cannot enter at the keyboard such as the ± character, for example. These special characters can be entered using the ISO code or (in the case of TrueType fonts) using the Character Map. The special characters in the Allplan fonts largely correspond to the ISO standard. You can also define your own special characters for Allplan fonts and use them in the same way you use normal letters.

To enter a special character in the Allplan text editor, press and hold down the ALT key and enter the number of the character on the number pad (start with a zero). To enter the ± character, for example, press ALT+0177.
