2D elements
As building alteration drawings can be very complex, they are often a mix of 2D and 3D data. The components used for walls, windows, doors etc. are complemented by 2D elements representing radiators, conduits, special components etc..
You can use Allplan's building alteration tools for both 2D elements and 3D components. This way, you can customize these tools for your needs and project requirements as well as adjust them to reflect your own particular methods of working.
2D elements are converted in the same way as 3D components:
- Draw as-built, demolition and new building objects using the default setting or based on objects provided by the wizards. You can also use Conversion for Building Alteration Work to apply the properties of as-built, demolition and new building objects to existing 2D elements.
- Conversion for Building Alteration Work also applies to all 2D surface elements.
- Make sure that you place the elements in the correct drawing files. You need to draw new building objects in a separate drawing file. This is essential for architectural components in 3D. It ensures that they are intersected correctly. You should also use a separate drawing file for 2D elements so that they are consistent with the 3D components.
