Update, modify blanking

Module(s): Advanced Draft + Site Plan

You can use the Update, Modify Blanking tool to update or modify the blanking of lines, pattern lines, splines and clothoids around point symbols.

This tool offers two options:

• Modify: use this to modify the blanking of selected elements. The blanking is removed from elements to which blanking has already been applied, and vice versa.
• Update: use this to update the length of elements with blanking after you have changed the size of point symbols, for example.

To modify the blanking of lines, pattern lines, splines and clothoids

1. Click Update, Modify Blanking (How).
   

   Activate Update, Modify Blanking in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Advanced Draft

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Advanced Draft

   Site Plan

   • Configuration: Landscaping/Urban Planning Advanced Draft flyout
2. Click Modify blanking individually in the dialog box.
3. Select the lines, pattern lines, splines and clothoids of which you want to modify the blanking.
   

   • To select a single element, click it.
   • To select elements in a region, use the left mouse button to open a selection rectangle around the elements you want to select
   • To include all the elements in the current document, click All in the Input options or press CTRL+A. Please note that this option is not available for all tools.

   When selecting elements, you can use the Filter Assistant to apply a filter based on element types and/or properties. For more information, see Filter Assistant.

To update the blanking of lines, pattern lines, splines and clothoids

1. Click Update, Modify Blanking (How).
2. Click Update blanking in its entirety in the dialog box.
   

Note: You should only apply blanking to point symbols that have been assigned a fixed radius. These are generally points with circular symbols.
