Opening NDW files and NPL files

Document-based approach using NDW files and NPL files

Allplan provides several options for opening NDW-format and NPL-format files. The options that are actually available to you depend on the license you are using. See also Restrictions on the use of NDW files.

The following options are available for opening NDW / NPL files:

• Drag and drop a file from Windows Explorer into an open viewport in Allplan.

  Note: Depending on which file (NDW or NPL) you drag and drop, Allplan automatically selects the appropriate working mode (document edit mode or layout edit mode).

• Double-click the file. Allplan starts (if it is not yet running).
• On the File menu, click Open....

When you open a drawing file (i.e. a *.ndw-format file (tb00????.ndw) saved in the project folder) or a layout (pb00????.npl) using one of the methods described above, it is opened as a NDW or NPL file.
