Using Colors

You can use this tool to define the line color. When the Color stands for pen option is enabled, elements are not presented on-screen with the color you select here. Rather, the line color associated with the pen thickness is used.

Color stands for pen means that the color used to display an element on screen is associated with (and thus dependent on) the pen thickness of the element in question. Elements drawn with a certain pen (or pen thickness) are always presented on-screen with the same color, regardless of the colors assigned to the individual elements. You can specify which color represents which pen in the Options (Standard toolbar) on the Desktop environment - Pen colors page. You can switch the Color stands for pen option on and off in Show/Hide on the Standard toolbar.

Note: If the FromLayer property is displayed on the Format toolbar, the color is taken from the layer and cannot be changed. See Using the ‘FromLayer’ format property.

To change the line color

• On the Format QuickSelect toolbar, click a number between 1 and 4 to select a line color from the quick selection list. In Defaults - Colors for QuickSelect format you can configure which four linetypes are presented for selection on this toolbar.
• On the Format toolbar, click the Select line color list box and select one of the line colors offered.
• Click Select Line Color on the Format menu and select a line color in the list box.
