Tool(s): Pattern
You can set the following parameters in the Pattern dialog box:
Pattern
You can select a pattern here. Click the pattern you want to use or enter its number and press ENTER to confirm. Please see the notes on Pattern and hatching numbers.
Reference point
Origin
When you activate this option, the pattern is calculated from the origin.
Custom point
When you activate this option, the dialog box closes temporarily and you can select a point from which the pattern is to be calculated.
Resize height, width
You can specify how the size of pattern elements in layouts is to behave with different reference scales.
Constant in layout (width, height as set in defaults * factor)
With the Constant in layout option, the size of the pattern elements is governed by the size set in the pattern definition, regardless of the selected scale.
Adjust to scale in layout
If the Adjust to scale in layout option is enabled, the size of the pattern elements changes changes with the reference scale.
Note: Patterns you have created in the Walls, Components, Openings module always get the Adjust to scale in layout option.
Direction, color
Angle
You can enter an angle between -180 and 180 degrees. When you click , the dialog box closes temporarily and you can click a line in the workspace to copy its angle.
Background color
When you activate this check box, a background color is applied in the area with the pattern. Clicking the button displays the Select RGB Color dialog box where you can select a color.
Dimensions
Width factor, Height factor
Here you can resize pattern elements. The setting is always based on the height and width set in the pattern defaults and affects scale-dependent patterns and scale-independent patterns. Values > 1 enlarge the pattern elements; values < 1 reduce them.

Placement type
You can specify how the pattern is fitted in the area here.
Trim along boundary
When you activate this option, the pattern is trimmed at the boundary of the area.
Trim to full segments
When you activate this option, only pattern segments that are fully bounded by the area are displayed.
No trim
When you activate this option, all the pattern segments that are fully or partly bounded by the area are displayed.
