Quantity/cost indicator, introduction

The cost/quantity indicator assists you as you work. You can use this tool (How) to visualize the quantities used in the design phase of a building, allowing you to track progress. You can toggle between trade and material. After you have placed a component in the workspace, all the quantity details are displayed graphically in the quantity indicator, and any changes or additions you make to this component are reflected in the quantity indicator. Of course, you can also update the data manually.

Quantity/Cost Indicator, functions

Cost indicator

In conjunction with Allplan BCM or Allplan Construction Cost, the costs are immediately displayed and updated during the design process.

Based on Allplan BCM or Allplan Construction Cost master catalogs, you can associate components with important information such as trade assignments, prices etc.

As soon as you have finished designing an architectural component, you can trigger calculation by clicking with the mouse or pressing ENTER, and the result is displayed graphically and alphanumerically in the cost indicator.

In addition, you can view all the costs on a trade level as you go along - all you need to do is click and the program presents a cost overview:

If there is no association with an Allplan BCM or Allplan Construction Cost project, the cost indicator will change to a quantity indicator, visualizing the quantities used for each trade or material (without any prices being assigned).

Usage

To display the cost/quantity indicator, click Update Quantity Indicator (How). This tool also updates all the quantities displayed in the indicator. You can use Automatic Quantity Indicator on/off (How) to specify whether data is updated automatically.

You can navigate and make settings in the cost/quantity indicator using the shortcut menu or a toolbar that you can display if you want. You can define the graphical appearance of tables and charts, choose colors, fronts, 2D or 3D and, in addition, save your settings as templates, which can be retrieved whenever required.

The quantity indicator window is always on top (i.e. in front of) the other ones but you can minimize the quantity indicator window as usual in Windows.

You can filter similar elements by pointing to the individual elements displayed in the Quantity/Cost Overview window. If, for example, you point to the calculation mode m3 in the legend or chart, all the other calculation modes are hidden.
