2D sketching tool

Tool(s): QuickSketch Mode

In 2D QuickSketch mode, you can sketch, draw and make modifications in 2D by moving the mouse, and without having to select any functions. These are then converted to 2D design entities by the program such as rectangles, circles, ellipses etc.

To move, copy, delete or change the color of elements, just draw the appropriate modification symbol over the elements.

To use the 2D QuickSketch mode

1. On the View menu, select Views and click Plan.
2. Press and hold down the ALT key and click with the left mouse button in the workspace.
3. Select 2D QuickSketch.
4. Various alternatives are available for working in 2D QuickSketch mode:
   • To draw freehand lines using the color and thickness currently set, press and hold down the ALT key and the left mouse button and move the mouse.

     

   • To draw design entities like lines, rectangles or circles, press and hold down ALT + CTRL + left mouse button and use the mouse to draw blue freehand symbols. These are then converted to design entities by the program and get the color, line type and thickness currently selected.
   • To modify elements (e.g., move them, change their color, or delete them), press and hold down ALT + CTRL + left mouse button and use the mouse to draw blue modification symbols over the elements you want to edit.

     Note: You can invoke QuickSketch even when you have selected a function (e.g. wall).
