Modifying planes, angle of inclination

Tool(s): Modify Planes

In this context, the angle of inclination is the angle between the contour gradient and its projection on the xy plane.

To modify the angle of inclination of custom reference planes

1. Click Modify Planes (How).
   

   Activate Modify Planes in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Architecture General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

2. Select Point Height Top/Bottom in the dialog box.
3. Click one of the boundary lines of the pair of reference planes you want to modify.

   The definition points of the plane are displayed as symbols in the construction line color.

4. Click A (angle) for the upper or lower plane.
5. Enter the angle of inclination.
6. Place a fixed point.
   The fixed point retains its position when the angle of inclination changes. It serves as the base point for the rotation of the plane.
