Setting Height Relative to an Existing Element

Height of architectural elements

You can use this option to set the height of a component’s top/bottom level so that it is copied from another component or reference plane that does not delimit the component in question. The settings are merely copied and no association is established. In other words, changing the height of the donor component or plane will not affect the component to which the setting was applied.

To match the top level of a component to the top level of an existing element or reference plane

  1. If the top level of the other component is inclined, click if the height is to be interpreted as a perpendicular offset. Otherwise, click (the height is interpreted as a vertical offset).
  2. Click .
  3. Click the element or reference plane whose top level you want to match, then enter an offset (0 if you want the elements to be flush).

To match the bottom level of a component to the bottom level of an existing element or reference plane

  1. If the top level of the other component is inclined, click if the height is to be interpreted as a perpendicular offset. Otherwise, click (the height is interpreted as a vertical offset).
  2. Click .
  3. Click the element with which the bottom of the new element is to be associated, then enter an offset (0 if you want them to be flush).

Note: The adopted values are retained even when the donor element is deleted.
