Join parallel polylines consisting of 3D lines

Tool(s): Offset 3D Polyline

To join two parallel polylines consisting of 3D lines

• The two polylines you want to join must fulfill specific conditions.
  

  • The number of lines that make up the polyline you want to join with an (existing) polyline must not exceed the number of lines that make up this (existing) polyline (= the polyline you click first).
  • Each line of the first polyline must match a line of the other polyline. You can define the criterion that is to be fulfilled in the Join based on area.

1. Click Offset 3D Polyline (How).
   

   Activate Offset 3D Polyline in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools 3D Modeling

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   3D Modeling

   The Offset 3D Polyline dialog box appears.

2. Select a criterion in the Join based on area.
3. Click Join parallel polylines in the Offset 3D Polyline dialog box.
4. Click the polyline you want to joint.
5. Click the other polyline with which you wan to join the first polyline clicked.

   The first polyline is joined with the other polyline based on the criterion you specified in the Join based on area.

   Note: Lines that project beyond the points where the two polylines are joined are retained. However, these lines are divided at the point of intersection. You can select these lines together and delete them with a mouse click.

   Note: If the program does not join the two polylines, check whether all the lines fulfill the conditions mentioned above.
