Tractrix settings

You can use the Tractrix Settings to define the display of the tractrix created. Three tabs are provided:

Path

Display the following elements

Use this to specify whether the axis (center of the vehicle’s front axle) and/or a symbol is/are displayed at the start and/or end of each section when the tractrix is created. Each element can be assigned a separate color for display (if the Color stands for pen option is disabled in Show/Hide).

Vehicle

Display the following elements

Use this to specify whether the tires are displayed in addition to the outline of the vehicle. Each element can be assigned a separate color for display (if the Color stands for pen option is disabled in Show/Hide).

Path

Use this to specify whether a vehicle symbol is displayed at the beginning and/or end of the path created or not at all. In addition, a setting called All is available. When you enable this setting, the vehicle symbol is entered in the path at the offset you specified.

Section

Use this to specify whether a vehicle symbol is displayed at the beginning or end of the relevant section of the path or not at all.

Envelopes

Use this to select a color in which the maximum envelope is displayed (if the Color stands for pen option is disabled in Show/Hide). In addition, you can specify whether a fill is to be applied to the area between the envelopes and set a fill color.

Selection

Use this to specify which curves are to be used to determine the maximum envelopes:

• The corners of the outline of the vehicle are used for the curves defined by the vehicle body. When you enable the Distance from vehicle option, you can enter an additional offset value to be taken into account.
  
  Please note that the existing vehicle body may considerably project beyond the envelope on the inner side of the curve when you connect the corners of tight curves or select long vehicles. Always check how the axles affect the maximum envelopes.
• The outer points where the axles and the tires intersect are used for the curves defined by the front and/or rear axle. When you enable the Axle base option, you can enter an select offset value to be taken into account.
