Interchange Coupler and Thread/Connecting Bar

You can use Interchange coupler and thread/connecting bar to interchange couplers and threads or coupling and connecting bars at coupler connections.

To interchange couplers and threads or coupling and connecting bars at a coupler connection

1. Click Modify Coupler, Thread, Connecting Bar (How).
   

   Activate Modify Coupler, Thread, Connecting Bar in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Engineering Bar Reinforcement

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Bar Reinforcement

   • Configuration: Engineering Engineering Modify flyout
2. Select Interchange coupler and thread/connecting bar on the Context toolbar and click OK to confirm.
3. Click the coupler connection (within a placement) where you want to interchange the position of the coupler and thread or coupling and connecting bar.

   After having checked the boundary conditions, the program interchanges the coupler and thread or the coupling and connecting bar. The lengths of the relevant bar segments are adjusted so that the position of the coupler end remains unchanged.
   

   

   Checking the boundary conditions

   When couplers, threads and connecting bars are created, the program checks certain boundary conditions. When these conditions are not adhered to, the program displays an appropriate message and does not create the relevant couplers, threads and connecting bars.

   The program checks the following boundary conditions:

   • Minimum distance of coupler or lock nut to bend
   • Distance of bars placed (spacing) for end anchorage and partially for coupler connections.
     The minimum distance must be observed when coupler connections are created. Otherwise, the torque wrench cannot be used.

   Note: The program does not check the edge-to-edge offset and the axial spacing between bars placed individually (single placement) or between neighboring placements!
   Observing these conditions is the responsibility of every individual user.

Note: This function is not very suitable for coupler connections created using Create coupler connection to close small opening as you would have to make sure that the lengths of the bar segments do not change.
If you still want to apply this function to coupler connections created in this manner, you need to move the relevant coupler connection using Move coupler and thread/connecting bar after having interchanged it in order to restore the original segment lengths again.
