Optimize grid

To optimize a digital terrain model

1. Click Mesh, Optimize Grid (How).
   

   Activate Mesh, Optimize Grid in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Terrain Digital Terrain Model

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Digital terrain model

2. In the input options, click Opt.
3. Press and hold down the left mouse button and define a selection rectangle around the points to be optimized.
   Alternatively, double click in the workspace with the right mouse button to optimize all the grid triangles in the drawing file. Grid points in more than one DTM will also be optimized using this approach.

Note: Meshing is based on the ”minimum total of triangle sides.” This is the product of the height of the triangle and the circumference, divided by the product of the two adjacent sides. By setting break lines, the grid can be designed in such a way that even triangles with a lower quality of conformance are used.
